Mapping of the Fire Progression

North Tower Fire Progression: West Face You can see how the fires progressed on the west face of the North Tower using NIST's own time-stamped pictures placed in the correct time sequence.

North Tower Fire Progression: North Face These pictures were extracted from NIST NCSTAR 1-5A, Chapter 8.
We put the pictures in the proper time sequence so the viewer can easily see for themselves what really happened on the north face of the North Tower from airplane impact to the final demolition.

Specialty Photo Collections

Spire Studies This is the collection of photos used in the essays Spire Studies, Parts 1 and 2.

Oxyacetylene Cutting This album was compiled so we know what an oxyacetylene torch cut looks like. It is important not to confuse these types of cuts made during clean-up with other types of damage. (Note that many researchers confuse torch cuts with "linear charges". Big mistake.)

Pictures with Added Graphics These are some graphics our researchers have made to analyze photos.
